Description
The Spadone Chafer Slitter is designed to slit fabrics to produce multiple chafer strips simultaneously. The unit can be positioned inline at the bias cutter or used as a satellite operation to slit spliced rolls fed from a let-off. The fabric is fed to the slitter through an edge or center guide system as preferred.
The slitter is designed to operate with a quick change mandrel complete with preset knives positioned for each slit width required. The knives slit through the fabric into a rubber covered roll which is synchronized with the windup conveyor speed. A knife lift mechanism is provided to facilitate threading the fabric and specially bowed rolls to separate the slit ribbons are included to accommodate the slit stock.
The slitter may be furnished complete with a special chafer wind-up consisting of 4 to 12+ stations. A ply-up station is available as an option.
