Description
The Spadone Chafer Slitter & Wind-up is designed to slit fabrics to produce multiple chafer strips simultaneously. The unit can be positioned in-line at the bias cutter or used as a satellite operation to slit spliced rolls fed from a let-off.
Fabric alignment is controlled by an offset pivot guide system. Set-up is made easy with quick change knife mandrels. The mandrels feature preset knives that slit through the fabric into a rubber covered roll which is synchronized with the wind-up conveyor speed. A knife lift mechanism facilitates threading.
Each wind-up spindle is individually driven and the liner is automatically edge guided. Our patented ramp-type dancer bar for speed control keeps fabric tension at a minimum. Stock rolls are positioned at “waist height” to facilitate removal and loading of the empty shell.
