M8 Start / Stop Servo Tread Skiver

Description

The SSL Stop/Start Servo Tread Skiver is an outgrowth of the servo technology developed for the Spadone M7 “Cut-on-the-Fly” style tread skiver and has many of its features.

The machine is complete with two servo axes. The first indexes the conveyor and tread length is controlled by the servo system. No PLC is required. The motion control system manages the size of the loop to accommodate a full range of line speeds and tread lengths. A self-test system permits the operator to check the mechanical accuracy of the machine at any time.

The cross cut carriage is also servo driven. Changing the length of knife carriage travel is easily accomplished through the operator input terminal to maximize the production rate for varying extrusion widths. The servo action eliminates the need for shock absorbers at each end of the stroke. The cutting action is smooth, quiet, and efficient. Compressed air consumption is greatly reduced and maintenance is minimal.
