A PEDIGREE OF TIRE & RUBBER
Founded in 1917, Spadone was owned and operated by two brothers who succeeded their father and grandfather. They began developing machinery for the tire and rubber industries with the original bias cutter system for efficient production of passenger and truck tire belts and ply; this machine, known simply as the “Spadone,” put the company on the map. Many of these cutters, now decades old, continue to operate in rubber and tire plants throughout the world today— leading Spadone to be referred to as “King of the Bias Cutters.”
Under the leadership of the Spadone family, the business would introduce additional technologies which would further benefit the tire and rubber industries. Innovation enabled customers to increase their productivity, improve quality, and grow their businesses.
Throughout the late 1990s-2000s, Spadone continued to build on its reputation as an established partner that benefited its customers with long-proven technology and designs. During this period, the Spadone family would sell the business. In subsequent years, it would chang hands several times, and eventually move from Connecticut to Pennsylvania. The most recent sale, in 2025, would start a new era for the company.

PRIMED FOR THE FUTURE
Since its most recent change in ownership, Spadone has gone through several positive and impactful transformations: these include a build up of the engineering team, adopting a more proactive sales and marketing approach and, most notably, the partnership with Troester Machinery Ltd., a subsidiary of Troester GmbH. The connection with Troester led to a complete relocation of the business from Pennsylvania to Cuyahoga Falls, OH, where we are now headquartered.
Moving the Spadone team and manufacturing under one roof has allowed us to effectively ensure quality control, bolster our engineering talent, update and improve existing products, and develop new ones to leverage our partner businesses.
Our intent is to continue the great legacy of Spadone, which helped build the rubber and tire industries. We are responsible to ensure it serves our customers for the next century.
